More info when it arrives... 3) Ths 2004 winter entry list is at 18. There are also some exciting ones "in the mail", such as 2 press entries from a manufacturer participating officially for the first time! (Details posted when entry forms arrive, watch www.alcan5000.com). 4) A draft of 2004 rules should be posted by August 1, so here's a question for discussion: We'd like to add interest to the SOP class by allowing GPS units. This should make course following easier and add interest, but still not compete with serious TSD computers. The present rules state SOP "will be defined as original equipment odometers in the stock location, plus the choice of: 1] slide rule, 2] Stevens wheel, or 3] calculator (laptop computers and Curtas are specifically NOT allowed)." We'd propose to keep these restrictions in place, but add a GPS unit as long as they're not hooked up to a laptop. Any problems or suggestions? Have a great summer!
